India may not constantly have had a population of over a billion people, but the subcontinent has always been home to numerous religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds and realms, so there is far more than one tale below of LGBTQ+ civil liberties and acknowledgment. As a whole, however, India was historically tolerant of LGBTQ+ relationships, with the
